I miss the feeling of connection. The feeling you get when you scan the crowd in a new room and your heart skips a beat as you lock gazes. The furtive glances exchanged as you try to determine if she is there with someone other than friends. Finally building the courage to go talk to her. Getting lost in her eyes. Noticing the accent of her voice and the sound of her laughter. Memorizing the shape of her lips when she smiles and the fragrance of her lotion. Yes, I miss the physical connection and touch. I hate this online mess, I'm terrible at it. So much is lost in nonverbal communication. I NEED the touch and connection. To hell with the life preserver, I jump in with both feet. More often than not I drown, but those moments of freefall before my last breath are what I live for.
